MISSION ENDOWMENT FUND APPLICATIONS 2022

Mission Endowment Fund Application Process
Applications Due March 30, 2022

The Saint Luke Mission Endowment Fund (MEF) was established in 1999 to provide a permanent financial base for the future of our congregation, and to enhance Saint Luke’s mission outreach with a source of funding separate from the church’s general operations budget.

The MEF Board makes funding recommendations to the Council and the Saint Luke congregation based on a portion of the earnings of invested funds — the MEF principal is never touched — for the following types of programs:

• Saint Luke ministries not funded by the congregation’s operating budget
• Ministries in our community, region and nation
• Ministries outside the United States related to the ELCA

In the past years, for example, the MEF launched the Saint Luke Seminary Fund to provide support to Saint Luke members wishing to serve God by becoming a seminarian; provided gifts to the Homeless Children’s Playtime Project in Washington, DC and Shepherd’s Table; and provided financial support to the ELCA Global Health Ministries to help train medical workers in El Salvador and battle the scourge of Ebola.

Ministries requesting MEF gifts should download, complete and submit the Saint Luke Mission Endowment Fund application. The form outlines the required information, including the applying ministry’s mission and history, a description of the project for which funds are being requested, an explanation of how the project will be evaluated, and details on the amount of the requested gift.

Deadline for receipt of applications is March 30, 2022. Recommendations and decisions concerning MEF gifts will be made by the MEF Board, the Saint Luke Council and finally the Saint Luke congregation.

Please submit applications or direct any questions or requests for further information to Mission Endowment Fund Board Chair Brock Beamer brock_beamer@yahoo.com.
